Car Free Day Takes Over Downtown PoCo

McAllister Avenue and Leigh Square
McAllister Avenue is closing to cars and opening to thousands of people for one of Downtown PoCo’s biggest street festivals of the summer.
Car Free Day brings live music, family entertainment, games, local food, a beverage garden, community displays and a busy outdoor market right into the heart of downtown.
For local businesses, it’s a great day to welcome new faces through your doors. Consider running an event-day special, setting up a sidewalk display where permitted or simply letting your customers know you’ll be open and ready for the crowd.
Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit. A free bike valet will be available at McAllister Avenue and Donald Street.
Road Closures
Road closures McAllister Avenue and Donald Street will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on August 29. Downtown remains accessible, with public parking, transit stops and detour routes available throughout the area.
Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit.
A free bike valet will be available beside Leigh Square.
